citipax
Citipax Institute

Research, convening, technical assistance, and fiscal sponsorship in the public interest.

Citipax conducts and supports the research and partnership work the energy transition, agricultural regeneration, and resilient civic life require — anchored in New Jersey, with outputs intended for community, municipal, and funder use. The work is grounded in the conviction that every New Jersey resident should have real equity in the systems that shape their air, land, energy, and civic life.

Status: Citipax is being established and currently operates as an unincorporated initiative.

Programs

Municipal Conservation and Climate Finance

Working with New Jersey municipalities and conservation partners to design durable funding architecture for open space, trail systems, agricultural preservation, and resilient civic infrastructure. Includes the active Califon Conservation Funding Architecture engagement.

Agricultural Energy Transition Research

Research into agrovoltaics and the operational economics of co-locating clean energy generation with active New Jersey farmland, and into agricultural decarbonization in the Northeast more broadly. Output is intended to inform municipal land-use decisions, farm-level partnerships, and policy work.

Practitioner Voices

An editorial program publishing long-form writing from credentialed practitioners across education, governance, regenerative agriculture, energy, and climate finance. Editorial standards favor first-hand experience and original argument over commentary.

Convening

Periodic gatherings of practitioners, municipal officials, funders, and researchers around specific questions the Institute is working through. Convenings are working sessions, not conferences — the output is shared analysis and follow-on collaboration.

Research tools

The Institute maintains a set of public-facing research tools, originally built as the Citipax Climate Policy Tracker. They power internal analysis and remain available as standalone reference resources.

Partnerships

The Institute partners with municipalities, conservation organizations, farms, school districts, and individual practitioners across New Jersey. Inquiries about research collaboration, fiscal sponsorship, or technical assistance can be directed to hello@citipax.org.
